This month was full of fun and engaging learning opportunities for our students at JMC! December brought along activities both inside and outside of the classroom. Students were excited to listen to, read along with, and watch the holiday stories Olive the Other Reindeer, Gingerbread Baby, and Polar Express. We also had great fun tying in writing and art projects to go along with these holiday classics. Creating gingerbread houses was also a tasty and fun activity that the students loved! A big Thank You to Madison's parents for helping us out with our yummy & messy creations! In addition, JMC staff and students participated in Star Wars Week! Each day brought smiles with everyone dressing in the day's theme and culminated in a school wide "Hour of Code." We so appreciate our 4th grade buddies from Mrs. Toth's class and Vivi's mom for coming over to assist us. Lots of happy faces heading off to winter break!!! Newton the Elf visted our classrrom today! He also brought along some characters from one of his favorite stories, The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy, The Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow were life-sized and added to the fun. The students were so happy and excited to "follow the yellow brick road" and sit in with these special visitors today! |
